Sistem perkuatan struktur beton bertulang menggunakan Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) menjadi solusi efektif untuk meningkatkan kapasitas lentur, geser, dan daktilitas. Namun, efektivitasnya sangat dipengaruhi oleh konfigurasi penempatan, jenis material (CFRP/GFRP), dan rasio penampang FRP. Studi ini merupakan tinjauan literatur terhadap lima penelitian utama yang membahas konfigurasi penempatan FRP (CFRP dan GFRP), meliputi variasi panjang, jumlah lapisan, serta posisi penempatan pada balok uji eksperimental dan numerik. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa konfigurasi U-wrap secara konsisten meningkatkan kapasitas lentur dan geser dibandingkan dengan konfigurasi lainnya. CFRP lebih efisien dalam meningkatkan kekuatan dengan rasio kecil, sedangkan GFRP cenderung lebih ekonomis dan memberikan daktilitas yang lebih baik. Mode kegagalan yang umum terjadi pada sistem perkuatan menggunakan FRP meliputi debonding, rupture, dan crushing beton. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa konfigurasi penempatan FRP memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap performa struktur. Kombinasi rasio optimal, jenis material, dan konfigurasi penempatan yang tepat menjadi kunci efektivitas sistem perkuatan.
